Bio
Ellen Stansell, Ph.D. is a full-time Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at Texas State University. Ellen teaches college courses on Ethics, Business Ethics, and Eastern and Western Philosophy. She completed her doctoral work in Philosophy, with a specialization in Indian Philosophy, at the University of Texas at Austin. Ellen’s scholarly work has been presented at the World Parliament of Religions and cited in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy. Ellen is sought out for her expertise in online learning and curriculum development and has been hired by several schools and businesses to provide support in these areas. Ellen taught on the history, philosophy, literature, and language of yoga in numerous yoga teacher training programs. She currently teaches on ethics of yoga. Ellen is co-developing a program on the theory and practice of non-denominational spirituality.
Ellen is an avid gardener, cook, banjoist, and Bluegrass vocalist. She is married to the photographer John A. Stansell and lives in Austin, Texas with their two boys.
